Tuition Assistance

Summit County Tuition Assistance would not be possible without

the generosity of Summit County Government, the Town of

Silverthorne, the Town of Dillon, the Town of Frisco, and the

Town of Breckenridge.

Summit County Tuition Assistance Program (SPK & First Steps)

It is the goal of Early Childhood Options with the assistance of the Town Governments and the Summit County Government to offset the cost of childcare with tuition assistance for families. This allows WNS’ rates to reflect the true cost of high-quality childcare. Every child is eligible to apply for tuition assistance. Ages 0-3 will apply for First Steps and ages 3-5 Summit County Preschool Program (SPK). This program is run through Early Childhood Options. Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP)

If your family is at 175% of the FPL or less, you may qualify for CCCAP to help subsidize your costs of childcare. Your full tuition will be covered by your established monthly parent fee, CCCAP payments and our grants. This program is run out of the Summit County Social Services office. Universal Preschool (UPK)

Beginning in the 2023-2024 school year, families in Colorado can receive at least 15 hours per week of free* preschool for 4 year olds through the Universal Preschool (UPK) Colorado program. Some 3 year olds with qualifying factors are eligible for 10 free hours per week. Apply and request a match with Wildflower Nature School through the Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC).

*Preschool hours are offered from UPK in half-day slots. WNS does not offer half-day slots. A full day’s tuition rate will be billed before UPK funding is applied.

Early Head Start 0-3

EHS is a comprehensive continuum of family support and education through paid child care at WNS to low-income families 0-3 years old. Spaces are limited. To apply, please contact Damarys Peralta (bilingual), Family Engagement Specialist at 970-406-3070.

Head Start 3-5

HS is a comprehensive continuum of family support and education through paid childcare at WNS to low-income families 3-5 years old. Spaces are limited. To apply, please get an application Damarys Peralta (bilingual), Family Engagement Specialist at 970-406-3070.
